Surgical Expertise:

       1. General surgery: Breast, Thyroid, Hernia, Gastrointestinal etc.

       2. Minimally invasive Surgery: Upper GI & Colorectal Surgery, Hernia,    Hepatobiliary etc.

      3. Oncological Surgeries: Breast, thyroid, Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgeries

Teaching Experience:Undergraduate & Postgraduate Teacher & Examiner for 17 years

Research Experience:Many research projects completed under his guidance.Has various publications in reputed national and international journals.

The Department of Surgery provides tertiary care to surgical patients. Referrals come from other ESI hospitals in Delhi as well as from surrounding states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir.

The mission of the department of surgery is threefold:

  • To provide outstanding quality clinical care that is cost-effective,
  • To develop the next generation of leaders in surgery, and
  • To make significant advances in scientific knowledge and clinical practice.

Department of Surgery is providing the following services:

  • General & Minimally Invasive Surgery including upper GI Endoscopy,Surgeries for Gastrointestinal, Thyroid, Breast and Renal Malignancies.
  • Urology excluding Endourology.
  • Paediatric and Plastic Surgery
  • Outpatient department (OPD) services- 6 days a week (Daily Attendance 200-300)
  • 24 x 7 surgical emergency services including emergency operations.
  • Elective operations are conducted on all working days.
  • Upper GI Endoscopy once a week.

Department has following working stations:

  • OPD with minor OT is located in the administrative block first floor.
  • The emergency ward of 12 beds in the main casualty
  • Indoor Wards –  90 beds ( sanctioned 120 beds)
    • Out of 3 wards, 2 wards are functional (4th Floor Female surgery ward in old Building and D1 3rd floor male ward. D2 Third floor is yet to become functional for male patients.
  • Emergency OT services - first floor OT complex   
  • Elective Surgery is done in 2nd floor OT complex - 2 operation theatres 6 days a week.
  • Sharing endoscopy room with the department of medicine.

Brief introduction of the Department
The approval for setting up of Superspeciality Department of Reproductive Medicine & Surgery was granted by HQ on 24th Feb 2021

Permission to start superspeciality course M.Ch. in above mentioned subject and to apply for grant of provisional affiliation with GGSIP University has been granted by HQ.

Approval for starting Fellowship course in Reproductive Medicine under aegis of National Board of Examinations (NBE) at present has also been received.

 

  • Level I infertility services were provided since January 2011 onwards
  • The IUI lab (Level II) was inaugurated in 2012
  • The IVF lab made functional and In-Vitro Fertilization services started for IPs from September 2019 onwards (Level III)

The ultimate goal for the Institute is to set up teaching superspeciality Department and to start M.Ch. programme which will help in fulfilling following goals:

 

  • Provide constant and updated services to the beneficiaries
  • The IVF centre and institute will comprehensively grow
  • This will provide in house expertise for the staff
  • Help to establish zonal IVF centers of ESIC
  • This will help to conduct research on occupational hazards on infertility
